Immaterialized / Disjecta

In the summer of 2008, a twelve-artist group exhibition was curated by Igloo Gallery co-founder Damien Gilley and the arts organization Disjecta.  When Damien asked me to create a graphic composition for the show, I decided on a screen-printed wall installation composed from several 5 x 4 foot wooden screens. The piece was digitally produced with

fifteen other compositions, in a series complied from a variety of photo-based graphics of Portland architecture.
Prior to printing the top layers, a grid-based pattern was drawn with pencil, which dissolved from behind the print up toward the top of the wall.  Over two days, with the help of four friends, I printed the piece from right to left in six sections.
