Bodies
Bodies is a limited-run 6 x 9, 311 page book, created in collaboration with Sean Joseph Patrick Carney and Publication Studio for the Amsterdam Biennial in October, 2009. The book, along with seventeen others made by twenty-two Portland artists, were included in the collection on display in Amsterdam. Carney and I are both artists who investigate language through text-based installation and written documents. Bodies is our collection of text culled from
horror film packaging; a selection of descriptive language that explores the film genre's tendency to incorporate the ultra-violent with the genuinely absurd. The book, diversified experiments in type design, is sectioned into horror sub-genres, accompanied by a consistent colophon, cataloging film title, director, year of release, and typeface used.
